Stover School Extracurricular
Stover School offers a lively programme of activities including after school clubs, trips and enrichment activities that are a key part of boarding life at Stover School. The activities programme is designed to develop students as individuals, enrich education and help recognise talent and potential. There are many clubs and societies to join at School, which take place during the school day. These range from sporting activities, including Horse Riding and Golf, to debating and RC Car club.
Stover School Boarding
Boarders will be allocated a room with similar aged peers. Throughout the year, the Boarding Houses organise various parties within each House and with the whole Boarding Community.
During the weekend, the school plans different activities to explore the countryside, trips to the theatre and cinema, the zoo, and shopping in Exeter and Plymouth. Sometimes, students will go further afield to explore the cultural opportunities in the South West. Students can also spend the weekend continuing their studies.
Stover School Pastoral Care
Regular tutorial sessions ensure that every pupil is in close contact with one member of staff to whom they can turn in confidence. There is a strong house system that provides a framework for pupils to develop a sense of togetherness and thrive within this supportive environment.
The Medical Center is available to all pupils if they are feeling unwell, and a qualified nurse is on call throughout the day to look after boarding and day pupils. The school counsellor provides a professional, independent service to pupils of all ages. The counsellor holds professionally recognised qualifications for practice and is BACP Accredited.
The School Chaplain takes an active role in school life and is very experienced in dealing with emotional issues that children face as they grow up. The school values this role as a mentor. The Chaplain also organises collective worship and runs the Christian Union Group.
