Guardianship
in the UK

According to the UK law, international students below 18 must have a third-party guardian. A guardian must be a person who is holding a British passport, above 25 (varies by the regulation of schools) and living in the UK. Parents can assign relatives living in the UK to be the student’s guardian, or they can join guardianship programme organized by agencies with good reputation.

Guradian Responsibilities
  1. Arrange airport transfer at the student’s arrival and departure
  2. Attend parent-teacher conferences and other related activities
  3. Manage the student’s academic progress
  4. Arrange accommodation during holiday such as mid-term break, Christmas and Easter
  5. Act as a communication bridge between the school and parents
  6. Deal with emergencies for the student’s parents
