When British schools used to have breaks, it was naturally delightful to see our child return home. However, witnessing them endure long flights back to Hong Kong, sometimes struggling with jet lag, was exhausting. In Hong Kong, our child rarely ventured outside, often sleeping until late morning, then spending the day playing video games or scrolling through their phone, essentially wasting their vacation. Before, we arranged for our child to spend their break in the UK participating in a study camp.
