St Peter’s School’s reputation for academic excellence is based on a varied and challenging curriculum, delivered by inspirational and supportive teachers. The curriculum allows pupils to discover their passions and pursue their interests, leading them to further study at some of the world’s leading universities. The school achieves outstanding examination results, with 98% of students achieving GCSE results at 9 to 4 in 2019 (46% of grades were 9 & 8) and 85% of A-level students achieving grades A* to B.

Pastoral Care & Boarding

Pastoral care is placed at the core of pupils’ day-to-day life, ensuring that everybody feels safe, happy and a valued member of the school community. Houseparents oversee pupil progress and welfare, supported by a team of tutors, matrons and the Chaplain.

At St Peter’s, each of the boarding houses is home to 30 to 45 pupils, allowing Houseparents, staff and boarders to get to know everybody individually. Each house offers spacious and comfortable accommodation, and Houseparents and senior boarders ensure that new boarders feel welcome and valued from the moment they arrive.

Extra-curricular & Personal Development

St Peter’s combines a high quality, all-round education with a forward-looking and exciting approach to learning, equipping young people with the skills they need to go out into the world, succeed and be happy. The school is a busy community of learners, who every day enjoy an exceptional variety of arts, drama, music, sport and volunteering at the core of a vast co-curricular programme.

Students can enjoy over 80 different co-curricular activities with excellent facilities across the 47 acre campus, including multi-surface pitches, sports centre, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, playing fields, boathouse, and netball and tennis courts. The school has a large music department and the Music School contains many instrumental teaching and practice rooms, a recital room, and a fully equipped recording studio. Drama is a thriving academic subject and co-curricular activity, with numerous productions staged each year.
