St. Michael’s School is one of the UK’s leading independent schools for boys and girls aged 3-18 years with the national reputation of academic excellence. Situated in Llanelli, Wales, it takes a 60-minute ride from the Cardiff Airport.
Academic Development
St. Michael’s consists of three parts: Prep school (age 3 to 11), Senior school (age 12 to 16) and Sixth form (age 16 to 18), all enjoy small class size plus high-quality teaching. Its reputation is especially strong in the sciences and medical pathways.
For GCSE, students have to study 4 compulsory subjects plus electives like Art and Design, Business Studies, Drama, Geography. For A-level, students are suggested to study 4 subjects. Subjects on offer are all traditional and academic.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
To build up close relationship between teachers and students, basically form teachers will move up with their pupils and is therefore well placed to offer the support and encouragement.
Two boarding houses provide choices of boarding on and off campus. Male and female are having individual zones. Apart from cosy bedrooms, boarders have large common room and communal space to enjoy family-like environment.
Extracurricular & personal development
Despite the fact that St. Michael’s is a traditional academic-oriented school, students are also encouraged to enjoy enrichment like sports, music and drama to develop social relationships and take up challenges outside the classroom.
