Basic Information & Location

School Motto
Sevenoaks School approach learning, teaching and living in the spirit of the International Baccalaureate, whilst appreciating that academic learning is important but not the only measure of success. As part of the school’s strategic focus on the future, it aims to maintain and strengthen our position as a world-class position IB school, but more than that, as a leader in education and innovation.
Academic Matters
The school has built a balanced, wide-ranging curriculum with depth and an element of choice. Sevenoaks firmly favour enrichment over acceleration. It does not encourage either taking exams early or taking exams during spare time; subjects are not to be rushed through or ticked off, but explored and reflected upon.
Boarding / Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is at the heart of Sevenoaks School. The primary aim of its system is to ensure that every pupil feels individually valued and supported. Each student is tutored in a small group who meet every day; this enables the tutor to know them extremely well and to support and guide them, and it enables friendships to flourish. All this contributes to the particularly happy atmosphere at Sevenoaks and its values of compassion, open-mindedness and trust.
Extracurricular
Sevenoaks is proud to offer a wide range of activities outside the classroom encompassing music, sport, art, drama, CCF, DofE, service, clubs and expeditions. The school is very lucky to have superb facilities on site including The Space for performing arts and the Sennocke Centre for sports, both of which have recently been constructed.
