Basic Information & Transportation
Royal Russell is an outstanding co-educational school for students aged 3 to 18 in South London. Located in Croydon, Surrey, it is within a one hour drive or train journey from Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
At Royal Russell, Years 7 to 9 students experience a wide range of subjects and lessons. Small class size is adopted, in order to capture the interest of every pupil and extend their subject understanding with discussion, research and projects.
In Years 10 and 11, students begin the process of specialising in certain subject areas for GCSE or IGCSE examinations. They will study seven compulsory core subjects plus three more subjects of their own choice.
For Sixth Form, Royal Russell provides a wide range of subjects at A level, along with a Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport Science and a BTEC in Business.
Sixth formers can attend seminars and tutorials, covering issues like effective study skills, examination technique, presentation and preparing for interviews. The majority of leavers could progress to Russell Group of Universities.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
All pupils are members of a House run by an experienced and sympathetic Housemaster or mistress, and a Deputy, alongside a Tutor team. Boarding houses are situated at the heart of campus. All of the boarding houses have their own character and history.
Extracurricular & personal development
Royal Russell values learning and socialising experience outside of the classroom; activities run for all pupils at lunchtimes and after school. Aside from the various clubs and societies, students can also enjoy educational trips, guest lecturers, study and interview skills training and expert Careers advice.
