Basic Information & Location
Located in the picturesque village of Repton in the county of Derbyshire, Repton School is fully co-educational with a strong boarding ethos. The heart of the school is based around the 12th-century Priory with its beautiful Garth and Cloisters.
School Motto
Reptonians realise that motivation is just as important as their ability; they are encouraged to and prepared to have a go, to get involved and to raise their own global awareness through discovery and personal experience. This means taking advantage of the School’s “sleeves rolled up” philosophy. Through this they get to know strengths and passions that will help them attain goals and realise their dreams.
Academic Matters
Repton School achieves excellent exam results at both GCSE and A-level, while around 95% of sixth-form leavers enrol on courses at a wide range of leading universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge.
Boarding / Pastoral Care
A traditional House system helps to mould a cohesive, family environment. Boarding houses are spread throughout the village so that boarders feel part of the local community. Day pupils are fully integrated with boarders. Inter-house rivalry is healthy.
Extracurricular
With a collection of national and regional titles to its me, Repton has a distinguished tradition of sporting excellence. The sports programme has a positive influence on all ages and abilities of pupils who benefit from facilities which include all-weather hockey pitches, an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a cricket ground that is the envy of many schools. Right across the board, particularly in Music, Drama and Art, Repton possesses world-class facilities. In September 2013, a new state-of-the-art Science Priory was opened with key facilities to develop and to promote excellence in science teaching, links with industry and external research projects.
