School Motto
The school’s ethos is to care for its students so that they feel empowered to develop their talents in many different ways. The school also want its students to be rooted in the Christian values of consideration, compassion, kindness, service, contribution to others and an openness to God on which they can build their lives and which will be their inspiration in good times and comfort in bad.
Academic Matters
Students at Prior Park College work hard and make the most of the many outstanding opportunities available to them. Developing the ability to test and challenge assumptions is a vital skill. The school encourages pupils to think for themselves, form opinions and communicate well. They respect other points of view but debate vigorously. Academic rigour is combined with creativity and cultural opportunities.
Boarding / Pastoral Care
Boarding is at the heart of Prior Park College. It is the life of the school that goes on beyond lessons’ end and into the weekends. It is the energy that continues to pulse when lights go on in the evenings and Prep is begun. It is the fun that erupts when Prep is done. It is the calmness that prevails when lights go out. It is the vitality that cajoles the school back into life each morning. The pastoral programme enables pupils to make informed decisions and to assume responsibility. Pastoral issues are addressed through school assemblies, House assemblies, pastoral periods and the Personal Development Programme.
Extracurricular
Prior Park College is known for its exceptionally high standards in creative art, music, drama, art and creative writing; with notable talent demonstrated in painting and sculpture, fashion design, singing, composing and the performing arts. The school’s approach is simple: each individual is valued and their unique talents are developed.
