Overview

Oxford International College is a private tutorial college that offers two-year A-Level programme to students aged 16 to 21 for entry into the best British and International universities. The school is located in the heart of Oxford and becomes a top ranking school as well. Founded in 2002 by a group of experienced educationists, the school cooperated with Cardiff University two to three years ago and now they go in separate ways again. In recent years, Yasmin Sarwar, the former top executive of Cardiff Sixth Form, has joined OIC and exerted great effort in its academic development.

Oxford International College Application Deadline

To apply for boarding places at Concord College, prospective students should submit their applications to the college by September of the year before they intend to start the academic year. For instance, if a student plans to enter in either September 2024 or January 2025, their application should be submitted before September 2023.

In the 2022 A Level examinations, Oxford International College excelled with an outstanding 92.47% of A*-A grades, placing the school among the top five in the country. These results are particularly significant as they represent the first set of standardized test outcomes since 2019.

As stated on the OIC website, numerous students progressed to prestigious university destinations, with a remarkable 50% of University of Oxford applications proving successful. Many students also secured coveted internships at esteemed companies like J.P. Morgan and obtained scholarships from some of the world’s top universities. Notably, one student even received the prestigious Jardine Scholarship at the University of Oxford.

What do the tuition fees include?

The tuition fees cover the cost of up to four A-level subjects, as well as a mandatory Core Super-curricular program and IELTS preparation. The IELTS preparation is required for students who have obtained a score below 7.0 in any of the components, unless they hold another suitable qualification that includes an oral component (such as IGCSE or A-Level).

What is included in the boarding fees?

An essential amenity for every student is a WiFi connection! In addition to creating a welcoming environment for students, the fees cover various provisions. This includes three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) served in the college dining room during term-time. Students are also provided with accommodation in a single en-suite study bedroom, equipped with shared kitchen facilities. To ensure maximum comfort, the fees include a bedding pack, provided once per year. Furthermore, students are granted membership to the Oxford University Sports Centre and Gym, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Oxford International College Entry Requirements

Prospective students will need to have IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Prospective students are required to sit admissions tests in their chosen subjects, as well as an online aptitude test. We also take into consideration previous school reports and any other qualifications achieved to date.

Most of the extracurricular activities are related to academic, in accord with the school mission. Existing societies include debates, music appreciation, documentaries and charity clubs. The school also organizes leadership training to foster students’ leadership skills. Students are encouraged to share their hobbies with others and even set up new clubs and societies. On the other hand, all students receive membership at the Oxford University Sport Centre as soon as they turn 16, after which they can freely participate in sports activities.
