Basic Information & Transportation

Bethany School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school which enjoys the reputation of being a friendly and happy community.

Located in Kent, it has a picturesque campus with easy transportation – less than an hour by train from London, or 1 to 1.5 car ride from Gatwick or Heathrow airport.

Academic Development

Bethany endeavours to provide each pupil with a tailored education, with appropriate independent learning opportunities. Small class sizes are adopted to ensure individuals can maximise their achievement in every lesson.

Be it in junior or senior school, students are provided with a broad range of subjects to ensure the self recognition of own interest and ability.

Bethany values both creativity and sports. A significant number of graduates pursue a career in artistic, musical or drama fields. Meanwhile, it offers a full and high-quality fixture list which involve the whole school to participate. Students are encouraged to realize the full potential in sports with related scholarships.

Pastoral Care & Boarding

There are five boarding houses at Bethany for boys or girls only with different ages. Boarders can enjoy both the fantastic facilities and a range of activities, including extensive weekend activities.

Extracurricular & personal development

Three afternoons a week are arranged as enrichment time both on and off-campus, including spiritual or physical exercises. Being one of the few schools in the region licensed to operate Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme independently, Bethany has a 100% completion rate for the highest level of achievement, the Gold Award.

The school was founded by a Baptist minister, yet it welcomes children of all faiths or none. Students attend Chapel twice weekly for quiet reflection and personal space in the fast-paced world.

Students also have many opportunities to broaden understanding and horizons, including geography field trip to Iceland, art trip to Rome, month-long ‘True Adventure’ expeditions to South Africa and the Himalayas.
