Among the 300 students, 90% of them come from the UK, only 4% comes from Hong Kong and Mainland China. Students can truly experience a British boarding school life. School fee is relatively low compare to other independent schools with the same standard.

Academic Development

Abbotsholme aims to provide students a balanced education through a strong academic curriculum and an extensive range of extra-curricular activities. A Levels offer a traditional academic route in English, Maths, Science, Business Studies and the Humanities. BTECs in Sport, Agriculture and Performing Arts offer a more practical project management approach. A combination of courses can suit some students very well. Abbotsholme understands that outdoor learning experiences are as important as indoor learning. Outdoor activities include hikes, expeditions, or overseas trips such as sea kayaking in Sweden and mountain biking in Scotland.

Pastoral Care & Boarding

Abbotsholme has a 70-acre working farm, an equestrian centre and country estate. Through working with animals or gardening, students have the chance to foster their understanding of the natural world and the environment. The small-scale environment allows every individual to be known and appreciated. All Sixth Form students are supported by their Tutors, Housemasters or Housemistresses, and the Head of Sixth Form to choose the right pathway for maximum academic success.

Extracurricular

Sport plays an essential role in Abbotsholme. During the Sixth Form pupils are encouraged to take on more responsibility for coaching younger members of the Abbotsholme community. Sixth Form Sports Captains are chosen in Year 13 and this role is important in organising sporting events and encouraging full participation from the whole school. Furthermore, sports club from around the UK and Europe visit the school during school holidays to run weekly sport camps to improve students’ skills and unleash their potential.
