Basic Information & Location

Marlborough College Malaysia is an independent British day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia. Set on a purpose-built 90-acre campus near the Straits of Johor and approximately 15 minutes from the Singapore border, the College offers a spacious and varied learning environment, with facilities including an on-campus lake, organic farm and golf driving range.

Academic Matters

Marlborough College Malaysia offers a rigorous and broad British curriculum designed to foster a genuine love of learning. The College places strong emphasis on core skills, independent thinking, creativity and intellectual curiosity. Pupils are encouraged to express their views, listen to others and discover their own academic interests.

In the senior years, pupils study IGCSE courses, with English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Science forming part of the core curriculum, alongside at least one humanities subject and one modern foreign language. A wide range of options is also available, including Drama, Music, Design Technology, Physical Education, Art, additional languages and humanities subjects. The Sixth Form curriculum is designed to be varied and enriching, with the International Baccalaureate Diploma intended to be offered subject to authorisation. Dedicated tutors also provide individual guidance on subject choices, gap-year opportunities, university applications and future career pathways.

Boarding / Pastoral Care

Boarding at Marlborough College Malaysia provides a supportive and vibrant community in which pupils can flourish academically and personally within a home-from-home environment. Living and learning alongside peers from different backgrounds and countries helps pupils develop independence, form lasting friendships and treat others with kindness, sensitivity and respect.

Each boarding house is supported by a dedicated team of adults, including Housemasters or Housemistresses, Resident House Tutors, Graduate and Gap Assistants, Dames and Visiting Tutors. Every pupil also meets regularly with a Personal Tutor for age-appropriate guidance and support. Alongside a full working week, boarders enjoy a varied programme of structured weekend activities, social occasions and recreational opportunities. Pupils may also return home during Exeats, Privs, half-term breaks and end-of-term holidays.

Extracurricular Activities

Marlborough College Malaysia offers a broad range of co-curricular opportunities in sport, creative and performing arts, outdoor education, service learning and pupil-led initiatives. These activities encourage teamwork, confidence, resilience and an appreciation of the talents of others.

Sports facilities include full-size rugby and football pitches, a cricket ground, a full-size hockey astro, tennis courts, squash courts, basketball and netball courts, a 50-metre swimming pool, an athletics track, an indoor climbing centre and a fitness suite. Pupils can also take part in Music, Drama, Art, Design, Outdoor Activities, debating, public speaking, leadership roles, charity work and community-service projects. Outdoor education and fieldwork opportunities further enable pupils to explore the natural and cultural environments of Malaysia, Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region.
