Basic Information & Location
Situated in West Sussex in South England, Chichester College is a state sixth form located only one-and-a-half-hour drive away from London Heathrow Airport. The Ofsted inspection in 2014 graded the school ‘outstanding’ in four key areas for Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Outcomes for Learners, Leadership & Management and Overall Effectiveness. The school fee of Chichester is relatively low compare to UK independent schools while students enjoy high quality of teaching and boarding.
Academic Development
Chichester provides a wide range of subjects, including Graphic Communication, Media Studies, Psychology and Physical Education. The overall A-Level pass rate for 2016/17 was 99.1%. Apart from A-Level, Chichester also provides Higher Education courses, such as university foundation, national diploma programmes for students who wish to prepare themselves for a career in a range of industries such as Hair & Beauty, Music, Catering & Hospitality and Teaching Training.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
Chichester aims to provide an environment for everyone to enjoy. There are restaurant, café, spa, hair salon and library in the campus. Apart from boarding houses, students can choose to live at homestay as an alternative. Students can choose between half board, which includes most of the meals, and Self-catering, which they have the freedom to cook for themselves. Self-catering homestay accommodation is available to all students who are on a full-time course and over 17 years old. In addition, every student is assigned to a tutor whom they can seek help and discuss things with, or guide them to other support services in college, such as counselling team, if necessary.
Extracurricular
There is a range of sports provided for students to participate, including fitness class and climbing wall activities, as well as sport clubs. Chichester also recently set up Female Football Academy with the aim to raise the profile of female football at the college.
