Basic Information & Location

Located in the south of England, Worth School has a spacious campus of more than 50 acres, which provides an excellent learning environment. The school offers A-Level and IB programme. It is a middle-scale boarding school. Worth School was a boys’ school before, but it began accepting girls since 2008, thus it has now become an co-educational boarding school.

School Motto

Worth School combines modern teaching methods with traditional values. Besides academic performance, the school values the importance of building up students’ positive thinking, confidence and independence. Thus the school encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities such as volunteering and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Academic Matters

Worth school has excellent academic performance over the years. Many students have been admitted to world-famous universities such as Edinburgh, Imperial, College of William and Mary, Maastricht, Bocconi and HKU and later became academic elites. To enable students to further explore their interests, Worth School has set up Extended Project Qualification for students who have higher goals for their future education. It aims to equip students with diverse and independent learning experience, which provides great help for their applications for universities and future studies.

Boarding / Pastoral Care

Worth school is a full boarding school which provides dormitories for all students. One dormitory can host 60 students and there are five in total. Each dormitory is unique but they all have common area, study rooms, computer rooms, kitchens and other facilities. Skype, wired and wireless network are also available. Junior students generally live in rooms shared between 2 to 4 students while sixth form students live in single rooms.

Most of the staff live on campus as well. Together with boarding students, they form a warm and friendly Worth family. Housemasters are responsible for taking care of students’ daily lives. Each student is assigned to a tutor who follows up on their learning progress and personal growth and regularly report to their parents. The school nurses are on duty 24 hours daily to provide health care for students.

Extracurricular

Worth school has various activities on campus every week. Every Wednesday is the activity day when students can participate in exciting activities, including climbing and speed skating, archery, bonfire party and so on. The evening activities after school are interesting as well. Sports training and competitions includes badminton, hockey, American football and basketball. The school fitness centre also opens at night for students to participate in aerobics, ballet and dance classes. They are all instructed by professional teachers.
