Basic Information & Transportation

Saint Felix School is a friendly school located on the Suffolk coast, which takes more than 3 hours car ride to London. The nearest airports are Norwich and Stansted, which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive.

Having over 120 years of history, the school was founded as an all-girl school. Since 2002, it has changed to be an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18.Its highly regarded swimming programme attracts students around the globe.

Academic Development

The school aims to develop well-rounded students with the skills and the personality to make a success of their lives during and after their school years.

In the senior school, a wide range of GCSE and A level courses, as well as enrichment programmes, career guidance and an extensive extra-curricular programme are offered. Especially Ancient History and Latin* A Level, Saint Felix is one of the few schools in the UK to offer these subjects.

When it comes to Sixth Form, the typical day starts with registration in the tutor groups and then either assembly, chapel or tutor time. During tutor time, there are discussions and debates on key and current news articles. There is also regular tracking meetings with individual students.

Regarding curriculum, students on entering the sixth form will typically choose 3 A Levels. All overseas students will be given English Literacy tests when arrived. They will have either timetabled IELTS lessons or be given the option of taking GCSE English Language.

Pastoral Care & Boarding

Since Saint Felix School was founded on Christian principles, all pupils attend Chapel once a week led by the School Chaplain. Boarders also attend on a Sunday.

In the school, a range of boarding options is offered, including full, weekly, flexi and occasional boarding. There are totally three boarding houses (oneboys’, one girls’ and one co-educational Upper Sixth) . Boarders are free to use many of the on-site facilities including the sports hall, fitness suite and outdoor tennis courts or visit Southwold for shopping and leisure. A rich and diverse weekend activity schedule is also offered.

Extracurricular & personal development

Each term a schedule of activities is issued and pupils opt for that term. Activities include various sporting clubs from the more traditional Rugby and Hockey to fencing and shooting, Art, Drama and Music activities, Chess Club, Film Club and STEM activities. Sport facilities are also well prepared: 25m indoor swimming pool, squash courts, fitness suite, a 25-acre equestrian cross-country course and a brand new tennis academy led by an international coach. Saint Felix is also one of the top 5 schools for swimming in the UK; its equestrian team regularly competes at regional and national level.

For Sixth Form, a programme of life skills will run throughout the years. Topics covered will include developing effective arguments, debating, Model UN, money management, cooking and car maintenance.
