Truro High School for Girls is situated in the beautiful Cornwall countryside, and is an international independent organisation with a rich and diverse student population from all across the globe.

Academic Matters
At prep school stage, Truro educates children from the ages of four to eleven. There are 100 students, therefore making class sizes small, which is advantageous in terms of teacher ratio student time. Modern languages are taught in prep school, starting as early as Prep 1. At senior school age, students begin their studies at eleven and finish at sixteen. Again the teacher ratio student time is beneficial. In years 7 – 9 the curriculum consists of Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Drama, English Language and Literature, Food and Nutrition, Latin, Mathematics, Physics, Philosophy and Ethics and Textiles, among many other subjects. In years 9 – 11 the core subjects include a modern language, English Language, English Literature, all three sciences, Religion and Philosophy and Ethics.
Boarding / Pastoral Care
There are currently sixty students boarding at the school. One of the advantages of boarding at Truro is that it is but a short walk to the town centre, whose beauty and proximity to the sea has made it a popular tourist attraction, one which is renowned throughout the UK. For full-time boarders there are many exciting things to engage in, such as trips to the theatre and cinemas, cycling, sailing, surfing, laser quest, ice-skating and shopping. At present there are seven nationalities staying as full-time boarders with Truro, which has resulted in a close-knit community exhibiting the best kind of diversity that every international boarding school always hopes to achieve.
Extracurricular
Among the expected sport disciplines and arts based pursuits, the school is keen on trips both in the UK and abroad for all ages. These include visits to the world famous The Globe in London, canoeing in France, playing competitive hockey in Malta, taking part in national music competitions, geography and history trips to Iceland and Spain, which also combine a classical element of learning.
