Cheltenham College Overview

Cheltenham College is set on a beautiful 72-acre campus in the Cotswolds region of South West England. The school is easily accessible—just an hour from Birmingham Airport and served by regular coach services from Heathrow every two hours.

Established in 1841 as Cheltenham Proprietary College, it was originally founded to educate the sons of gentlemen. The school began at Bays Hill Terrace in the town centre before moving to its current site on Bath Road and adopting the name Cheltenham College.

Girls were first enrolled in 1969, and the school became fully co-educational in 1998. Today, Cheltenham is known as one of the most family-friendly towns in the UK, popular among middle- and upper-class families. Its location offers a blend of cultural richness and natural beauty, with the historic city of Oxford just a short distance away.
