Basic Information & Location
Oxford International College Brighton (referred to as OIC Brighton) is a branch campus of Oxford International College (referred to as OIC) located in Brighton in the south of England. It officially began providing educational services in September 2023.
OIC Brighton is a private school that offers day school and boarding services for students aged 13 (Year 9) to 18 (Year 13).
Different from the main OIC campus, the OIC Brighton campus is larger and more modern, covering 80,000 square meters. It not only preserves the original Georgian-style architecture but also includes new teaching buildings, teaching facilities, and a large outdoor activity space, aiming to provide a comprehensive and high-quality educational environment that allows students to balance learning and personal development while enjoying a richer campus life.
Academic Development
OIC students receive impressive offers from top universities such as the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge every year. In 2022, 12 students received degrees from these universities. Nearly 100% of students are admitted to G5 universities and the Russell Group. It is not surprising that OIC students consistently rank among the top three in public exam results.
In addition to the successful A-Level and one-year GCSE courses offered at Oxford International College, Brighton also offers a Pre-GCSE course starting from Year 9 and a full two-year GCSE course starting from Year 10, all conducted in small class teaching mode. In order to achieve the best academic results, Oxford International College Brighton provides strict academic monitoring, carefully planned super-curriculum programs, and close personal counselling to enable each student to have their own academic path and help them build an impressive achievement and skills profile.
It is worth mentioning that OIC Brighton is supported by the Nord Anglia Education Group, which is involved in education businesses in many countries around the world and has connections with famous universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. Therefore, OIC Brighton students have many opportunities to go beyond the campus and beyond the UK, including exchange programs, auditing classes, internships, etc., enriching their knowledge and experience and providing great help for their Personal Statement and interviews when applying to top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge in the future.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
OIC Brighton is expected to accommodate 500 students, and the teaching facilities will be completed in two phases. In September 2023, facilities such as public lounges, student cafes, restaurants, medical centers, gyms, prayer rooms, and learning resource centers will be put into service. The second phase will be completed in the summer of 2024, including new boarding facilities and a sports hall.
Samuel Chan and Anthony and Wing, education consultant of Britannia, have visited OIC Brighton and felt that the school building is decorated with a modern and simple style and has excellent lighting. The most impressive feature is the Wellness Center built specifically for students to receive physical and mental health services and counseling from medical personnel. The dormitory is designed to be warm and comfortable, mainly in the form of two people sharing a room, which helps students establish social relationships and have a positive effect on each other. Inside the room, students have private desks and whiteboards for writing, ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment for personal learning.
Stepping out of the school building is another feeling, with blue skies, white clouds, swaying tree shadows, and vast green lawns, which are refreshing and pleasant. Moreover, looking outside through the campus walls, you can see horses grazing, sleeping, and basking, providing a pleasant company for studying.
In addition to hardware, the software also makes people feel that OIC Brighton is dedicated and passionate about education, as their WIFI access is “we always care.”
