Amond is spearheading a new venture for Britannia, a premier school placement agency, as the Head of the firm’s recently-opened office in Shanghai. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Amond brings a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western cultures to this exciting new role, having studied at high school and university in the United Kingdom.
Amond credits his time in the UK for providing him with the skills to thrive in new environments and adapt to different cultural norms – experiences he says were “the best time” of his life. This adaptability has served him well in his successful corporate career, where he has held several senior management roles, most recently as General Manager for Hutchison Whampoa Property Group and L Real Estate Fund (LVMH).
During his tenure at these multinational corporations, Amond demonstrated an exceptional ability to understand the needs of his clientele and deliver tailored, high-quality solutions. He is deeply grateful to his alma maters in the UK, which he believes laid the foundation for his professional achievements.
Concerned by the “cramming system” prevalent in many Asian education systems, Amond has sent his own child to the UK to study at an independent school, believing it will provide a more well-rounded education.
In this new venture with Britannia, Amond is excited to leverage his extensive experience and cross-cultural expertise to captain the firm’s expansion into the Chinese market. He was impressed by Britannia’s personalized approach to school placement services and is eager to replicate this success in Shanghai and many other Chinese cities to follow, ensuring families have access to the best independent schools in the UK.
