每到公開試放榜季節,香港學生都會預先報讀「英國銜接課程」作為後備方案,慎防成績不如理想時,還有另一途徑升讀大學。
銜接課程不似香港DS和英國A-Level等公開試一試定生死的考核模式, 而是透過日常功課、專題報告、定期小測驗等多種計分方法相結合, 能更平均、客觀地評估學生真實水平。更重要的是, 銜接課程能夠選修的科目愈來愈廣泛, 也愈來愈專業, 包括: 醫學(MEDICINE)、建築學(ARCHITECTURE)、計算機科學(COMPUTER SCIENCE)、法律(Law)、商科、工程等等, 只需修讀一年銜接課程並成績達標, 便可升讀英國大學。

香港DSE 7月19日放榜;英國A-Level 8月17日放榜(英國時間)。
