Harrogate Ladies’ College is one of the UK’s leading schools for girls aged 11-18. The school was established in 1893 and has been educating inspirational women for the last 125 years.
Harrogate ia safe, wealthy, cosmopolitan town with beautiful historic buildings and large open spaces and parks. It has a vibrant café culture and exclusive shops and boutiques. The school is located 5 minutes’ walk away from the centre of Harrogate meaning that girls attending the school are able to enjoy being part of a British community. The school is 15 minutes from Leeds Bradford airport which offers shuttle flights to London Heathrow (35 minutes) and Amsterdam (70 minutes). Manchester airport is also just 90 minutes’ drive and the school provides escorted travel to and from all airports for pupils.

Academic Development
Harrogate Ladies’ College has strong academic results. Girls are taught in small class sizes by excellent and committed teachers who help the girls to achieve the best results they possibly can. Learning is stimulating and interactive and students are encouraged to think, learn and study independently. The school has specialist programmes to support pupils applying to Oxbridge and also for pupils who wish to follow careers in Medicine and Veterinary Science. There is also a specialist Business School.
Harrogate Ladies’ College has a long history of educating girls from Hong Kong and they are always well respected members of the school community. Hong Kong pupils regularly achieve sought after leadership roles within the school and go on to secure places at top UK universities.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
Boarding is at the heart of the school’s ethos and around forty percent of its students are boarders. The school’s boarders come from more than 28 different countries and are fully integrated into its school community. They live in traditional family houses and each boarding house has a dedicated housemistress who are responsible for the wellbeing of the girls. The school Wellness Centre offers the professional expertise of qualified nurses and visiting doctors.
Extra-curricular & Personal Development
Life at College gives students the opportunity to excel outside the classroom in a wide range of specialist fields including sports, drama and music. There are over 50 extra-curricular clubs and societies available for students including Drama, Business Breakfast, Choir and Badminton. A full weekend programme of activities for day and boarding pupils include trips to the cinema and local restaurants, bowling, trampolining and city visits to York and London.
