猴子與pioneer

分享一個學生告訴我的故事。

 

一隻貪玩不怕死的猴子站在高高的山頂上,跟好朋友綿羊說:「喂!上來看看!這邊的日落好美!看到人類的船在揚帆!」綿羊戰戰兢兢地說:「不要啦,上面很高,怕大風,怕受傷,怕死。」第二天,吹到「甩頭甩骨」,滿身被沙石刮傷的猴子對綿羊說:「喂綿羊!上來看!有風箏呀!包你未見過!」綿羊聞言:「不要啦,上面好高,我怕,還是跟其他綿羊玩好了。」然後跟另一班綿羊走開了。

 

第三天,猴子再說:「喂綿羊!喂!今次真係要上嚟睇!彩虹呀!」今次猴子得不到回應,因為綿羊早已跟隨其他同類離開了。

 

已經三個月了,猴子獨自在山頂,看過無數美麗的自然景色,雨後的彩虹、蛋黃色的日落、人類的大輪船等等。

 

那天,猴子再一次跑上山,看見了蟠桃。牠從人類的貨船上見過一次,二話不說擺入口。「嘩!好好味!綿羊!……」牠忘記了,綿羊早就下山了。牠記得曾經見過山上雨後的植物種出果實,靈機一觸:「如果把種子埋在泥土,會否種到蟠桃樹呢?」

 

再過兩個月後,山頂上種出一大棵蟠桃樹。

 

「嘩!好多蟠桃呀!」猴子興奮地摘下蟠桃跑到山腳找綿羊。

 

「綿羊綿羊!我在山頂種了蟠桃樹!快一起上來吃!」綿羊望著那一大籃的蟠桃,跟住牠走到山上,大吃一驚。「你怎知道山頂有蟠桃?」「上次在山頂見過人類的輪船上裝載著,便摘一個來吃。記得之前人類來過山頂種果樹,我偷偷學了,所以自己種出蟠桃樹來。」

 

原來在綿羊安於山腳生活的半年間,猴子早就比他們見得多,接觸得多。當天被視為異類的猴子,今日變成種出蟠桃樹的天才。

 

山頂好危險,大風吹到應,落雨淋你先。但上面的風景好美,甚至有你從沒見過的東西。只有夠膽挑戰山頂,才會得到這些珍貴的寶物。而如果你寧願跟隨大隊,不冒險,選擇隨波逐流,最後可能還是一頭看不到蟠桃的小綿羊。一個個Pioneer,就是一隻隻勇敢的猴子,不怕冒險去衝,起初被視為異類,最終變為先驅。

 

安居在山腳易,被隨波逐流的洪水沖走更易。要成功,就要有勇氣走上山頂。

 

世上成功人士通常都有一個特質:pioneer。Steve Jobs帶領Apple開創了智能電話先河;Mark Zuckerberg掀起了社交網絡潮流;Elon Musk令Tesla由不切實際的奢侈品變成不少車迷的dream car。做pioneer未必一定成功,但成功的人好多都是pioneer。

 

而這班pioneers都有一個共通點:不隨波逐流,他們通常是社交圈中的freaks,被人冷嘲熱諷,覺得你傻,覺得你反叛。但他們卻是最容易能推動世界的一群。分享一個Apple的廣告slogan作結:

 

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
