發光的心

我遇過的學生之中,有一個好特別。他叫做軒仔。軒仔11歲,讀喇沙,是混血兒。家庭背景優良,是不少父母夢寐以求的天之驕子。
 
軒仔出奇地活躍,在考試break time會跟我同事表演魔術,玩空氣fencing,開心到有點unreal。這種一反傳統學生的行為引起我注意。
 
我捉住軒仔同佢傾計。「軒仔,點解你想去英國讀書?」通常我問小學生這條問題,都不是expect甚麼答案,只是想考考他們對答。But then,軒仔的答案嚇我一跳。

「我想做植物學家!」點解呢?「啲人出街唔熄燈,又用膠樽,搞到啲樹死哂!」啲樹死哂就要做植物學家?「因為我好鍾意大自然!」我心諗,呢啲答案俾香港父母聽到一定激死。家境富裕,又聰明,有律師醫生唔做,去做植物學家?而軒仔好似識讀心一樣:「爹地媽咪都支持我!」
 
原來軒仔居住的環境被綠色植物包圍,所以自小就與大自然很親近。成長在綠油油的世界,父母和他的快樂回憶是軒仔最珍惜的東西。可惜城市發展入侵大自然,促使他立志成為植物學家救救地球。
 
好離地,真係好離地。屋企有錢梗係可以有夢想。少爺仔就梗係做乜都得。救樹?係都買樓先。不過這種離地,是小朋友努力讀書的一大動力。試問對於小孩子,錢的意義何在?無乜意義。
 
反而地球的自然環境受破壞、人患上疾病而覺得痛苦、壞人在法律下受到正義制裁,種種畫面比起錢更有意義,更容易引起小朋友的使命感和決心。所以軒仔的離地,其實不太離地。想深一層,作為人類本來就要愛地球,做醫生本來就要救人,幫孩子實現最純粹最直接的夢想,更實際不過。
 
軒仔的家庭背景確實幫了他一把。不過,更重要是父母肯讓軒仔放低書本,真正走向世界去感受。懂得好好發揮孩子的赤子之心,不必用金錢掛帥,孩子一樣會自己努力,成為出色的人。那顆赤子之心本來會發光發亮,但如果被金錢遮住,無論如何閃亮,都照耀不了前路。
