【南早教育網:Summer Activities】Fun Tastic

最近與農夫有不少合作機會,才知道原來他們也是教育界的一分子。唔講唔知,原來農夫有一間學習中心,名叫Funtastic Playland,對象是年紀較輕的小朋友,為他們提供不同類形的英語學習班和興趣班,目標是希望孩子在玩樂中學習和成長-Play.Learn.Grow。

 

Play!一個教育界知易行難,慢慢變成直接唔提的字眼。今時今日的香港,同學們只學習就好。先學野、再攞高分數、成功了,就去玩吧。這麼一來,次序該是Learn然後Achieve,最後才Play。而Funtastic則反其道而行,先去玩,在玩樂中學習,並在快樂的學習過程中成長,所以是先Play,然後Learn from Play,最後才Grow。

 

Funtastic Playland有所不同的,則流住農夫的血,有著二人乜都玩的DNA。莎士比亞英文Drama、小DJ學習班、親子唱遊班等,光看名字你一定不會聯想到和學習有關,反而是幾個好好玩的興趣班。Funtastic的宗旨,也正像農夫兩個「嘩鬼」去英國一樣,去到邊玩到邊,學習?玩完先算啦!所謂知易行難,是因為間間學習中心都希望孩子能夠玩,在玩之中成長。之不過香港孩子的壓力實在太大,容不下你以玩作為學習的工具。所以就同學們十八般武藝,學非洲鼓畫水墨畫打曲棍球學朗誦等,樣樣皆精,卻只是學習機器,一點都不enjoy。

 

那麼玩完之後學唔學到野?又可以再看農夫的示範。那段畢業speech正道出他們玩完一大輪的得著。有時候,學習不一定是死板,不是學了26個英文字母就等於識英文。跳水可以訓練膽量、爬泥漿可以練默契、打波也可以強身健體和學習團隊合作。

 

這就是玩樂學習的核心。不是只玩不學,而是用間接及更深刻的方式讓孩子好好吸收知識和技能,更能在他們的人生日記寫上難忘的回憶。香港教育面臨的其中一個大問題,是孩子害怕學習,被書本知識嚇怕了,休息的時候寧願對著iPhone,就已經當去玩。

 

有人話農夫是大細路,沒說錯。而這種大細路性格帶進Funtastic,能令學習更Fun、學生表現更Fantastic ( 唔好意思我食字係爛少少 )。想孩子在機器式的學習之中成長,還是在「Fun」之中得到「Fantastic」的結果?This is a personal choice,但我會揀後者。
